Recycled Pleated Kitesurfing Skirt

When it comes to recycling, there are endless possibilities as the example below demonstrates. We made this mini bikini cover up from a retired kite! After a certain amount of use and exposure to salt water, kiteboarders can’t use their kites because they become damaged or too brittle. This fabric is not biodegradable so it would just wind up in a landfill. We decided to upcycle this plastic like fabric. The result is this fun mini skirt that is perfect for female surfers.

Thanks to the New York Kite Center this upcycled kite will get a second chance.
